U.S. prison population continued to grow in 2004

Reuters
October 23, 2005

The U.S. prison population, already the largest in the world, grew by 1.9 percent in 2004, leaving federal jails at 40 percent over capacity, according to Justice Department figures released on Sunday.

Inmates in federal, state, local and other prisons totaled nearly 2.3 million at the end of last year, the government said.

According to the International Center for Prison Studies at King's College in London, there are more people behind bars in the United States than in any other country.

China had the second-largest prison population with 1.5 million prisoners, according to statistics updated in April and cited by King's College. The total U.S. population is about 296 million, while China's is 1.3 billion.

****China has fewer prisoners with 1.3 billion population than does the U.S. with 296 million population.**** THINK ABOUT THAT FOR A SECOND.

The U.S. prison population continued to grow last year even though reports of violent crime during 2004 were at the lowest level since the government began compiling statistics 32 years ago, according to a government report released in September.

Beware how your "tax" dollars are spent. People are jailed for what they think and what they write IN AMERIKA not only for who they physically harm. Irwin didn't harm anyone. If he is jailed they will "impose" a huge fine upon him, a fine that cannot be paid...why is that? Why impose a fine on someone with full knowledge they couldn't pay it?

It's a money fabrication system, thats why! What other rational reason could there be?

VIOLENT crime decreased but prison population grew. Sounds like a money making opportunity to me...and it is!

"VIOLENT crime decreased but prison population grew."

A rational person would think that violent crime decreased because violent criminals were taken off the streets and kept in prisons.

Very easy to agree with the above post, as a rational person would.

Taking violent criminals off the street means there would be less violent criminals on the street...true.

With less violent criminals "off the street" and thus violent crime decreased -
HOW DID THE PRISON POPULATION CONTINUE TO GROW?

less violent crime = More being convicted of WHAT?

Now what is the rational reason?

The Prayers of Our Nation are with the three of you today, Irwin, Cindy & Larry!!

China has more than 4 times our population and less in prison.

Either we are more violent or Amerika has more laws to violate.

Doesn't look good -

I personally know people, in prison, because they wrote opinion letters with regard to taxes.

A simple letter, only charge against them was to state their opinion. Lawyers do it all the time and charge money even though their opinion may be WRONG!

So what does that say for America, the land of the free, unless your in prison in the most prison happy country in the world!

The radical Marxists have taken over America. They call themselves many things but never their true title.

They believe in a progressive income tax, government schools where children are subjected to random drug tests prior to participate in extra activities of all nature, not just sports. Of course the "at risk" children will refuse to participate and they are the ones that need supervision and good things to do! How dumb is that? But the Marxists love it for it helps create more criminals to monitize more debt through their beloved central bank.

p.s. not to mention the psychological issues it causes children to be filmed or monitored, by a stranger, while they pee into a cup.

that's just three of the ten planks!

Those in charge are the radicals not those who seek to end the madness!

The International Committee of the Red Cross, based in Switzerland, has opened a War Crimes Portfolio charging the United States President, Vice President, Defense Secretary, United States Military Commanders and the majority of United States Senators and Congressmen with ‘Crimes Against Humanity’ over what the United Nations has declared as an ‘illegal’ war in the Middle Eastern Country of Iraq, and where the innocent civilian death toll is nearing 30,000.

30K innocent dead, but no one in US prison is innocent. Go figure...or go figure your tax amount you wish to pay.

Is no news good news?

By Anonymous Anonymous, at 10/24/2005 1:18 PM

No news means the jury didn't rush to convict as many have in the past. That's better than having the jury be so wrong that they take 1 hr. or less to slam the cell door.

Irwin will be found not guilty, bu tthe questions will never be answered: Cite the law from the IRC that makes one liable for income tax payment, liability or penalties. I'll help you get started, check the IRC index page where they list Liabilities, payments, and penalties.

Then check out all the regulations juxtapose the parrallel table of authorities, and you will see that all, and I mean all, the enforcement provision for income taxes have nothing to do with income taxes. The IRS uses regulations that pertain to Liquor, tobacco and alcohol taxes to enforce, income tax payment. WHY IS THAT QUATLOO? WHY DO THE IRS USE THE ENFORCEMENT PROVISIONS OF ATF, TO ENFORCE INCOME TAXES??? WHY???, WHY???, WHY??

Answer: Because there is no law that requires anyone to pay income taxes, therefore, there are no enforcement provision for income taxes. The supreme Court ruled that "Our system of taxation is voluntary..." Flora v. US.

Now if they convict Irwin, we will all know that the man would have been railroaded. No doubt about it. But I am confident that the Black folk on the jury will not convict Irwin, they know injustice when they see it. Well in this case, when they are not allowed to see it. I'm referring to the juries request to obtain a copy of the IRC, WHICH THE CORRUPT JUDGE DENIED.

tHE JUDGE IS LUCK THEY DIDN'T ASK TO SEE THE REGULATIONS, OR TO VIEW THE NUMEROUS US Supreme Court decisions.

BTW, was this court bound by US Supreme Court decisions, or was it operating under Admirality law? Does anyone know? explain if you will. Thank you,

NOT GUILTY, NOT GUILTY, NOT GUILTY.
